Delilah is Not a Combat Character

(12/15/12)
So a lot happened the next session, let's see if I can remember it all. I have been sick so my voice was not what it should be, there were jokes made before game and fun to be had but it got very serious at a few points. There were only 3 werewolves present, myself included. So it was Rabbit, Jack, and Delilah doing things this session and boy was it something.

Because there were only three of us and I had been alpha once and Rabbit did not want it, Jack was alpha. He decided that our first order of business was to get the "lumber". During time between games, we had contacted an information spirit and arranged for it to ship the lumber from both of the warehouses over to Dariun's warehouse. We had received word that what should have been a 20 minute train ride lasted 24 hours because there was another train on the tracks. The spirit informed us that another train had not been scheduled on those tracks. So immediately we knew that the cocaine that was hidden by the lumber had been stolen. We borrowed Jimmy's truck and Jack allowed Rabbit to drive, so we literally drove down the train tracks. We made it to the point where the train had stopped and immediately began searching. It was dark by the time we got to where the cocaine was hidden.

Rabbit scouted ahead and found that there were five guards with shotguns and in real tree camouflage. We decided we had to take them out, but Jack had to stress to Rabbit to just knock them out and not to kill them. We went into wolf form (Urhan) and began sneaking towards the first one, Delilah unfortunately wasn't very sneaky and actually made a lot of racket. So we stopped and it was decided that I would be the distraction. Rabbit and Jack continued on and I promptly began running through the brush making as much racket as I could. I was rolling really well that night. They knocked a few out and then Delilah got trapped in a trap. That was a huge distraction. Rabbit and Jack spotted two black forms come down from the trees and begin moving towards me. I began working on freeing myself from the trap, unaware of being approached. I went back to human form (Hishu) and managed to keep myself composed as I felt the trap dig deep into my flesh as I grew larger. I opened the trap and tenderly pulled my leg out, then when I looked up I saw red eyes and a long snout coming from the brush in front of me and hot breath on my neck. My first thought was to run so I tried and the one behind me latched on to my shoulder and began pulling me away. I screamed trying to fight back. Jack and Rabbit ran towards me, Rabbit launched himself into the wolf across from me and it ran away, then he turned his attention to the one on me. He fought with it and eventually had it by the neck and under his control, he had dominated it. I was free and Rabbit told the wolf to go back to the people it worked for and warn them not to mess with us again. It ran as soon as Rabbit let it go. It was decided that I should stay put and not get trapped again because we realized there were traps everywhere and it was amazing I hadn't gotten caught before. I went back to Urhan.

The last two were talking to each other as Rabbit disappeared into the darkness and Jack promptly got stuck in a sink hole. I stayed put despite all the splashing, telling myself that I would just get in the way. Then one of them fired a gun in the direction of Jack and the splashing. He missed but I saw that as I need to try and take him out, because nobody fires a gun at my pack member. I made my way through the brush, avoiding traps and sticks that would snap under my feet and make a lot of noise, and promptly found myself looking down the barrel of a shotgun. "Oh shit," I said. I could see him pull the trigger but by some miracle Rabbit hit him from the side and the gun went up and it shot off just missing me. My pretty face was so close to not being so pretty anymore. But we had won and spent the rest of the night moving the pallets of cocaine from the loft they had constructed to Dariun's warehouse.

After that night, the next order of business was the promised tennis meet up with the mysterious group, but before that, I had a prophetic dream.

The dream starts off with a flickering light. There is a shadow dancing in front of it like a moth or a bug. I pan down from the light and I can see three faces. They are arguing about something. A fourth one arrives and they turn their anger to him but he's got a smug look on his face like he knew they were going to be pissed at what he did. Arms and fingers appear and they go to try and choke him but he begins to multiple out to the left and right, stacked like bowling pins. Hundreds of him. The hands retreat and they start to slink away, but still gripping at his boots like they don't want to give up without a fight.

A man is here now, he yells at me "You shall not worship false gods" and the pack emerges from the darkness around me. We are ready for a fight, amped up and ready to go. Jimmy makes the first move and the man sets him on fire. Rabbit runs to his brother and the flames move and consume Rabbit too, like the flames are alive. All that is left are smoldering corpses. Leila looks at me and she there are tears in her eyes. She takes my hand and pulls me into a run away from the Preacher. I'm trying to remember the last time she has ever run from a fight, so I know this is big. We try to run home to Midway but there is a fence around it with barbed wire and dried blood. We can't get home. I remember the taste of blood and the smell of Bale Hounds.

The raven is sitting on the barbed wire, it flies over to a 3 foot pole. I see a tennis ball and the sound of rackets hitting it before Rabbit and Delta appear. They are playing tennis and having a great time. Rabbit is even trying to do a British accent like he is royalty. I'm leading Leila now, I have a death grip on her hand. The raven flies off and we reach the pole and I manage to yell a "Help," halting the game. I say "The Preacher, he must be stopped. He is a catalyst." Rabbit tells me to call the pack. I look up to the moon and howl, the authority of Luna is in me. When I look down the pack is here and Delta's friends are with him too. We are in an alleyway. The Preacher arrives looking happy to have more victims to burn. Diogenes puts his hand on me and he says a prayer and I can feel my skin get tight like I'm about to change, but I don't. The Preacher turns his power on me but I am safe. He tries it again but to no avail. Now is our turn, we attack, rallying together. Man with Uratha. Gus calls everyone to a stop and the Preacher falls dead. My mind follows the blood down the drain pipe and I can see the flickering light again.

4 men are standing below, arguing. They are watching 12 or so ants fight a big black spider. One of them says, "Looks like the ants won," and moves his foot and I can hear the crunch of the ant exoskeletons getting crushed.

We went to the location given to us by Delta, one of the members of the group. Everyone who was present was there, and we were all on edge. We were near the middle of town, we were in Pure territory; we had to be on edge. Rabbit and Delta started hitting the tennis ball back and forth with the rest of us watching. Diogenes asked Delilah if she would like to go get a smoothie with him, and she agreed. As the two of us left, I overheard Rabbit command our alpha of the time, Jayden to follow me. I was annoyed, but I choked it back. Diogenes and I talked, I asked questions and he did a very good job of selling the fact that we both had to work together (something that I already knew, having had a prophetic dream shortly before the match). I did not tell him why I agreed with him but left it at that and promised that I would do my part in ensuring that we join forces if he would do his on his end, which he agreed to.

The three of us came back with our smoothies to the tennis game and Rabbit was trying to pull information out of Delta concerning the raven we saw with them. Rabbit has a special skill in getting information out of people (he is our scout after all) and virtually "broke" him. Delta would have told him anything. When he asked if the Raven was okay, because we had learned from Turtle a few days prior to this that the Swamp Kings, a group of werewolves from Midway (the very ones who controlled the area the cocaine we had stolen back had been located) had fought a mysterious bird that turned into a bear, breathed fire, and did not bleed, he said point blank, "No." Rabbit continued to ask questions as the group scrambled to get Rabbit to stop, my warnings and alarm at hearing Gus, one of the members of the group, speak first tongue, warning him to stop, went unheard. Finally Delta walked away to recover and Rabbit followed. Diogenes followed. I stayed back with Jayden to attempt to do some damage control with the other members of the group, I apologized, Jayden apologized, and they all left fairly quickly. When we went out, Rabbit was fuming and would not talk until we got home, where he informed us that Diogenes had held an axe to his back, threatening him. We were surprised, Jayden was angry, but I couldn't see how that could be true. Not only would threatening a werewolf put his own life in danger, but my prophetic dream had told me that he was a protector... or at least a protector of myself. I felt a connection with him after that, a connection that he was not aware of, but I still felt safe.
